This study aims to examine the role of green practices in enhancing social responsibility within a sample of healthcare institutions in Constantine Province, specifically focusing on public hospital institutions. The research centers around six key dimensions: green buildings, energy management, water management, waste management, food management, and green transportation. The selection of this topic stems from its growing significance in light of contemporary environmental and health challenges. The study is based on data collected from a sample of 146 administrative executives working in the selected healthcare institutions. A structured questionnaire was employed as the primary instrument to assess respondents’ perceptions regarding the implementation of green practices and their impact on social responsibility. Additionally, semi-structured interviews were conducted to support and enrich the analysis and interpretation of the findings. The results revealed varying levels of adoption of green practices across the six dimensions. A relatively acceptable level was observed in green building and food management, while other areas, such as waste and energy management, exhibited lower levels of implementation. Statistical analyses demonstrated a significant relationship between most green practice dimensions and social responsibility, underscoring the importance of the environmental dimension as a core component in institutional approaches to social responsibility. The study concludes with a recommendation to develop a clear environmental strategic vision within the healthcare institutions under study, emphasizing the need to allocate a dedicated budget line for environmental sustainability within the general financial planning of public health institutions, aimed specifically at the implementation of sustainability projects. |
